Sewer work to close parts of Meydenbauer Bay Beach Park

Bellevue Utilities is making improvements to replace aging sewer pipes now located along the shore of Lake Washington. The new sewer line and a below-grade pump station will be relocated on shore within the existing Meydenbauer Bay Beach Park and the Bellevue Marina parking lot.

The construction of the sewer line will begin on Jan. 3, and is scheduled to be completed in May 2017, prior to the anticipated start of construction of the renovation and expansion of Meydenbauer Bay Park. The new park will offer a restored shoreline, pedestrian pier, swim beach, beach house, play and picnic areas, shoreline promenade and restored stream.

Construction Work Hours 

  • Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m.- 6 p.m.
  • Saturday, 9 a.m.- 5 p.m.

Meydenbauer Bay Beach Park

  • The park shoreline and swimming beach area will be closed.
  • The upper parking lot and walking trails north of the project area will remain open but may experience temporary closures.

Bellevue Marina parking lot

  • The marina will remain open during construction but access will be limited.
